In keeping with her tradition of documenting the deliciousness of meals enjoyed.
This one happened on Saturday, December 20 on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, at the lovely home of AC.
Prelude:
An assortment of cookies baked by Mr. Jacob R. & Ms. Laura M.
Wine:
Chateux Royer, a 2008 vintage
Preliminary snacks:
mozz, tomatoes, and basil (who invited you to December, dear herb?) with olive oil, salt & pepper. Olives.
Cookies. I am probably forgetting something.
Dinner:
Roast duck stuffed with apples. This duck was prepared with a bouquet of herbs including sage and rosemary. It was dressed with fig sauce & very cheap port wine.
Accompanying this duck were oven roasted purple potatoes, sweet pots, turnips, and ?? other root veggies.
crunchy bread.
liver of duck (very sweet)
spinach with a mushroom specimen of loveliness.
apple pieish ness, served with green & black's vanilla ice cream.
which all resulted in what might be called a content and borderline uneasy feeling of fullness.
In the morning we did yoga, ate poached eggs & french toast & more roasted potatoes and duck and went to the botantic garden.
