Saturday activities included a bank visit, an IKEA clock mission, a tag sale of earthly delights, a clock delivery mission, dog steps, lounging on a nice wood floor, driving back roads to Lenox, Mass to see Prairie Home Companion Live at Tanglewood and a sleepy car ride home. Many thanks to my brother Jacob who provided the wheels. Elsie went to the car graveyard and I am without wheels. Sunday I finished painting my planters on the deck and I went to see the very excellent Young at Heart documentary with Conini. The A/C in the theater was broken, the heat was pretty damn near unbearable, and the afternooooon/evening was punctuated by the kind of disagreements I hope to never have again. Just another schizo weekend in the wilds of Connecticut. Highlight: getting lost in Fairfield Hills and having to ask a volvo full of intoxicated yupsters how to get to the Merritt. Jon insisted they were on qualludes because, he says, only rich people know how to get quualluuudddes. I really know how to spell that.
Anticipation: Thursday night Alexis rolls into town. Friday I fly to Minneapolis. Next week I will hopefully be floating around lake superior.
