This weekend I was feeling very antisocial. Perhaps in anticipation of going away to England, where I imagine I will be spending lots of energy. What I did was little. I built an apron that I like so much I don't want to give it away. I made some paintings. I went to the Saturday night comedy show after spending all day inside sewing. I got some lunch with SLS.I made more oat energy bites. I went to the library and took out much of their information on England, only to return most of it. For example, an 80s era video tour, which was silly. It made England look like a land of fannypacks and feathered hair. I took Conini out for a birthday sushi and then walked home from the sushi place, stopping by the mall to look at appliances. Who is this person, looking at appliances? Me?Then it was the hour of dogs: I saw ten within a few minutes, big nosed sleek dogs and pug-nosed little dogs, and a bird that I fear fell from its nest for it was chirping in an appalling fashion, over the blasting music from the corner ice cream shop. I arrived home and Conini played a show across the street with his old friend from the ska band's band from Los Angeles. (Does this make sense? Drew is a former member of a now-defunct band that Jon was also in.) I had very high expectations for this band, as they are signed and dress like tight-pants-ed little punk rockers. The lead singer kept saying, "we are the adored, from los angeles." which made me think they are ridiculous. I find that hard to stomach, as though geography can tell us something about skill. thankfully, the old friend remains a good person, despite his band allegiances. I read a little about the invention of the dictionary and went to sleep.
