I believe my theme for 2005 may be old timers. I was mistaken when I believed it was the year of class. Some things are making me slightly insane:
1.) I ordered some flowers to arrive at the home where my mom was visiting for mother's day and they have not yet arrived. What is with you UPS? I am dreaming [*really...last night in the humid evening I dreampt of the tulips*]
of them wilting in their box. It is distressing me!
2.) at stop & shop I tried to buy some herbs for my garden and they wouldn't ring up at the right price and the people at customer service did not honor the price listed outside so I returned them...

But:
Last night I went to the Old Timer's Athletic Association Dinner and never in my life have I seen so many old men in one room, admiring the superbowl ring of some man who must have won a superbowl. Most of them had jewelry on. Gold chains and rings with diamonds. They fought over rolls and salad and pasta. I thankfully was there with a co-worker who enjoys fooling around and mischief as much as I do, so it was tolerable.

And in addition to helping an old woman with the door at the USPS, I helped an older gentleman at the grocery operate the "red box" dvd rental system that seemed to befuddle him. I even made it free, by hooking him up with a promotional code. He said, "will you be here tomorrow?"
