The blizzard of 2006 found me in new haven for writers discussing garbage, followed by a lot of city walking, then a slumber party where I talked about how great john mcphee is, then slept through a movie, then awake again to survey the snow which had finally arrived. Blizzards, it was snowing! The next day SR shoveled out, and we made our way downtown for Harold & Maude on the big screen. All I can say is it ruled. So much detail I'd never noticed watching it on wee televisions. We'd parked in a garage due to the parking ban, and went up to the roof to look at the snowbound city, and I rolled in the snow and then security came to make sure we were not up to no good. We were not. SR said, "when they excavate our civilization ages from now, this is what they will find: parking garages" and there was a bleak beauty to the garage, where I had never parked before. Then I took the train home and napped all afternoon.
Valentine's Party at Daniel Street was a dance party, really fun. But staying up late again did not assist my feeling scattered, which was not helped by my Thursday night class...the first one, where we discussed information theory which seems like it might be fun were I not so into the non-abstract. Show me some sandwiches, don't discuss with me how the process that makes the sandwiches is intellectualized. I hope I am not in over my head.
They finally came to take my computer away and smoke the trojan from it, hopefully successfully. Now it is Friday, and I hope to accomplish a fair amount this weekend, in addition to a sunday excursion to NY to see dave pahoe, because I have Monday off.
