What a gorgeous day and I sat in bed reading and eating a banana chocolate crepe and barely made it outside before the sun set. Frankly, I'm a little dissapointed in myself. I have been thinking about what 2006 means, what happened in 2005, and here are some stats:
1. in 2005 I finally got health insurance, though I still have no used it.
2. in 2005 I finally got my own place without roomates aside from my lover (ha!)
and I started using the word lover all the time.
3. in 2005 I resisted all the dumb pressure from the people around me to get married. why do people feel this is the answer?
4. in 2005 I got some short-shorts published, first fiction EVER
5. in 2005 I learned to love the place I never imagined I would, milford, ct, my adopted hometown since 1990.
6. in 2005 I did not ride my bicycle enough
7. in 2005 I managed to write in a sweet little bedside journal a fair amount and this led to MORE WRITING, more poems and stories, which makes me feel like I can whisper silently, "you are on the path to writerdom"
8. in 2005 I traveled to minneapolis, las vegas, chicago, san diego, and tijuana (briefly)
9. in 2005 I did not visit my younger brother enough
10. in 2005, NHWC was established, and they are so great (though I have recently been slacking) they kicked me into gear.
11. in 2005, the 6th annual grab bag party went down without a hitch
12. in 2005, I got a really bad haircut and it is finally growing out.
13. in 2005, my car got smushed and survived
14. in 2005, I applied to grad school, got in, and will finally start attending in the fantastic, wintry, 2006.
